PORTRAIT PROJECT
INTERVIEW
For this project I decided that I wanted to interview my cousin McKenna who is 18 and currently in her first year of college at OSU. I decided to interview her because I know that she's a n incredibly thoughtful and interesting person, but I wanted to learn a little more about her. I also thought that she would be very thoughtful with her answers and it would overall make for a really good interview and I would get a chance to learn more about her at the same time.
Q: Who is one person you feel like you could tell anything to?
A: I feel like I could tell anything to my mom now. It wasn't always that way, but now I would tell her anything.
Q: What is your favorite instrument to play?
A: My favorite instrument to play is clarinet, because I've been playing it since I was in sixth grade and I'm a college student now and I'm still playing clarinet. But I also really like to play the ukulele too, I'm self-taught on it but I still know a lot of songs and it's really fun.
Q: How would you describe yourself in three words?
A: Compassionate, hard-working, and strong-willed.
Q: If you could fix one world-wide problem, what would you fix?
A: I would probably fix the hatred that people have towards each other. I feel like the world would be a much better place if everyone didn't use hate towards each other.
Q: What is one message you wish you could tell the whole world?
A: That we're all humans here on this earth, so it doesn't really matter what you look like or what you believe in. We all need to be in this together.
Q: What is one thing that you really love about yourself or something you're really proud of?
A: I'm really proud that I have the determination to finish projects that I work on. A lot of people around me struggle with not getting things done or not prioritizing their work, and I think I'm pretty good at that. And that's probably because of my mom and my grandma are there same way.
Q: How do you feel about being in college so far?
A: It's honestly not as hard as I thought. Everyone says it's a lot more work, and like it is, the work load is definitely more, but there's a lot of freedom, and the content isn't necessary;y harder than high school yet. It's just more.
Q: What's one thing you would really like to tell me?
A: One of the main things I learned is that you won't be truly happy with yourself until you stop caring about what other people think. And that's really hard, and I'm still working on it, but like in college I stopped caring as much as I did in in high school and it's just really freeing.
